Turkish fintech startups secure record $166M in January-May

Turkish monetary know-how (fintech) startups acquired a report $166 million in complete investments within the first 5 months of 2024, a report confirmed on Thursday.

The Türkiye Fintech Snapshot for May 2024, launched by the Presidency’s Finance Office, highlighted that there are 845 fintech startups within the nation and 696 have been operational as of May.

The highest variety of fintech startups have been working within the funds discipline, with 273 registered corporations, adopted by banking applied sciences at 111, cryptocurrency and blockchain at 101 and company finance companies at 91.

Two corporations have been established in May, whereas fintech exits amounted to $109 million within the 5 months.

The report confirmed that one firm made a deal price $1 million within the 5 months and 5 have been acquired for $52 million.

Göksel Aşan, the top of the Finance Office, mentioned that fintech employment is rising and the variety of fintech startups has been on an upward pattern.

“We continue to work diligently to ensure Türkiye’s position among the leading countries in fintech,” mentioned Aşan.
