Turkish forces rescue 190 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek authorities in Aegean Sea

Türkiye rescued 190 irregular migrants within the Aegean Sea after Greek authorities pushed them again into Turkish territorial waters, the Turkish Coast Guard stated Saturday.

Thirty-one have been rescued from a rubber boat off Datça district and 16 off Bodrum, in Muğla province. A complete of 99 have been saved off Izmir province, in accordance with the Coast Guard Command.

Forty-four irregular migrants have been additionally rescued off the coast of Fethiye in Muğla. One migrant fell into the ocean as they have been attempting to board a industrial ship.

Search and rescue operations, involving two Coast Guard ships and a Coast Guard boat, are ongoing to find the lacking migrant.

The migrants have been taken to the provincial migration administration directorates.

Türkiye and international rights teams have repeatedly condemned Greece‘s unlawful follow of pushing again asylum seekers, saying it violates humanitarian values and worldwide legislation by endangering the lives of susceptible migrants, together with girls and youngsters.
