Turkish foreign minister to attend Gaza summit in Egypt

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will go to Cairo, Egypt on Saturday to attend a heads of state and authorities summit on Palestine.

The summit will talk about the “unfolding situation in Gaza, the future of the Palestinian cause and peace process,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated in an announcement on Friday.

Fidan may even maintain bilateral conferences on the sidelines of the occasion.

The battle in Gaza started when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a multi-pronged shock assault that included a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air. It stated the incursion was in retaliation for the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rising violence by Israeli settlers.
