If Israel’s retaliation in opposition to Palestine within the Gaza Strip would not finish then the United States will “not be spared from this fire,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned on the United Nations on Thursday.

“I say frankly to the American statesmen, who are now managing the genocide in Palestine, that we do not welcome (an)expansion of the war in the region. But if the genocide in Gaza continues, they will not be spared from this fire,” he instructed a gathering of the 193-member General Assembly on the Middle East.

The Palestinian enclave is reeling from unrelenting Israeli air strikes, adopted by a shock cross-border assault in opposition to Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7.

Palestinian authorities say greater than 7,000 Palestinians, largely girls and kids, had been killed in air strikes since then. Israel says the Hamas operation killed some 1,400 individuals.

The demise toll in Gaza is more likely to rise if Israel launches a broadly anticipated floor offensive.

Hamas has instructed Iran that it was able to launch Israeli hostages, including that the world ought to push for the discharge of 6,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, Amirabdollahian stated.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready to play its part in this very important humanitarian endeavor, along with Qatar and Türkiye. Naturally, the release of the 6,000 Palestinian prisoners is another necessity and responsibility of the global community,” he stated.
