North Korea on Sunday joined a rising choir of criticism in opposition to the U.S. for vetoing a UN Security Council (UNSC) decision, which referred to as for a direct cease-fire within the Israel-Hamas conflict, state media reported.
The UNSC voted on the decision Friday, but it surely did not cross after an anticipated veto by the U.S., one of many 5 veto-wielding powers of the 15-member council.
Calling the U.S. a “stumbling block” to worldwide peace and stability, Kim Son-kyong, North Korea’s vice international minister for worldwide organizations, accused Washington of abusing its veto proper, North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency reported.
“I cannot but deplore the fact that the international community’s unanimous desire for peace and stability to settle in the Middle East at an early date was mercilessly trampled down again,” Kim mentioned in an announcement.
