US condemns attack on its embassy in Iraq

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned an assault final week on the US Embassy in Iraq, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller mentioned Tuesday.

In a telephone name with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Blinken additionally condemned a collection of assaults on US personnel in Iraq and Syria in latest weeks, Miller mentioned in an announcement.

“The Secretary welcomed the Prime Minister’s robust condemnation of the latest assaults as ‘acts of terrorism’ in addition to the Iraqi authorities’s pledge to analyze and maintain perpetrators accountable.
