UN Security Council to meet on Ukraine after Russia attacks

The United Nations Security Council was set to debate the scenario in Ukraine on Friday afternoon after Ukraine and its supporters requested an pressing assembly to deal with missile and drone strikes by Russia, after Moscow launched its greatest air assault of the battle.

The assembly was set for 4 p.m. ET (2100 GMT).

Russian strikes throughout Ukraine on Friday killed 31 civilians and wounded greater than 160 others, in line with officers, and Poland stated a Russian missile appeared to have flown into its airspace earlier than returning to Ukraine.

Ukraine’s overseas minister, Dmytro Kuleba, stated on X, previously Twitter, that Ukraine and three dozen different UN member states had requested the Security Council assembly after the assaults, “which resulted in multiple civilian casualties and heavy destruction of civilian infrastructure.”

The Security Council’s web site stated the council would focus on the “maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine” at 4 p.m. ET (2100 GMT) on Friday.
