Türkiye rescues 187 irregular migrants in Aegean Sea

Türkiye rescued 187 irregular migrants within the Aegean Sea after Greek authorities illegally pushed them again into Turkish territorial waters, authorities mentioned Friday.

Some 158 of the irregular migrants had been rescued off coasts of Çeşme, Seferihisar and Karaburun districts within the western Izmir province, the Turkish Coast Guard mentioned in an announcement.

Coast guard groups rescued the remaining 29 irregular migrants in inflatable boats off the coast of Datça within the Muğla province.

They had been taken to provincial migration administration directorates.

Türkiye and international rights teams have repeatedly condemned Greece’s unlawful observe of pushing again asylum seekers, saying it violates humanitarian values and worldwide regulation by endangering the lives of susceptible migrants, together with girls and youngsters.
