Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov met Monday in New York for talks.

The closed-door discussions between the highest diplomats got here a day earlier than a UN Security Council assembly which can handle the state of affairs within the Middle East, together with Gaza.

No additional data was shared in regards to the assembly.

Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border assault by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Oct. 7, killing a minimum of 25,295 Palestinians and injuring 63,000. Nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have been killed within the Hamas assault.

The Israeli offensive has left 85% of Gaza’s inhabitants internally displaced amid acute shortages of meals, clear water and drugs, whereas 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been broken or destroyed, in line with the UN.
