At least 21 individuals have been killed and 38 injured Sunday when a bus collided with an oil tanker and a motorcycle in southern Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
Deadly visitors accidents are widespread within the nation, due partly to poor roads, harmful driving on highways and a scarcity of regulation.
“On Sunday morning, 21 people were killed and 38 people were injured due to a collision between a tanker, a motorcycle and a passenger bus,” the provincial data division stated in a put up on X.
The accident passed off on the Herat-Kandahar freeway in Grishk district of Helmand province, it added.
The collision triggered the autos to ignite, Helmand governor spokesman Mohammad Qasim Riyaz informed AFP.
Images shared by the knowledge division on social media confirmed charred, twisted metallic scattered throughout the freeway and the crushed cabin of the tanker.
Clean-up crews have been on website eradicating the particles, in accordance with officers.
Of the injured, 11 have been critically damage and 27 had minor accidents.
The passenger bus was touring from Herat metropolis to the capital Kabul when it first collided with a motorcycle carrying two individuals, killing each riders, Helmand visitors administration officers stated, in accordance with the knowledge division.
The bus driver misplaced management and crashed with an oil tanker touring in the other way from the southern metropolis of Kandahar to Herat, sparking a hearth.
The accident killed three individuals on the tanker and 16 bus passengers.
