The US president mentioned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “listening” to his considerations over the invasion of the southern Gaza metropolis of Rafah.
“I think he’s listening to me,” Joe Biden informed ABC News on Thursday.
“They were going to go into Rafah full bore — invade all of Rafah, go into the city, take it out, move with full force. They haven’t done that,” Biden added.
Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since an assault final Oct. 7 by the Palestinian group Hamas, regardless of a UN Security Council decision demanding an instantaneous cease-fire.
Some 36,600 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, most of them ladies and kids, and over 83,000 others injured, in response to native well being authorities.
Eight months into the Israeli struggle, huge tracts of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of meals, clear water, and medication.
Israel stands accused of genocide on the International Court of Justice, whose newest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to right away halt its operation within the southern metropolis of Rafah, the place over one million Palestinians had sought refuge from the struggle earlier than it was invaded on May 6.
