Russia’s FSB safety service stated Tuesday it shot lifeless a Ukrainian agent who tried to plant explosives underneath the automobile of a senior defence business official.
The suspect, whom it didn’t identify, allegedly labored for Ukraine’s GUR intelligence company and focused a “senior employee of a defence enterprise in the Sverdlovsk region”, the FSB stated.
He was detained whereas “placing an improvised explosive device in a hiding place, put up armed resistance and was neutralised by return fire,” the FSB added.
A pistol with ammunition was discovered on the scene, whereas regulation enforcement seized elements used for making explosives throughout a search of his residence, it continued.
There was no instant remark from Kyiv.
Ukraine has typically focused Russian officers it believes are complicit within the Kremlin’s full-scale navy assault on its territory, which started in 2022.
In December 2023, pro-Russian Ukrainian defector Illia Kyva was shot lifeless close to Moscow in an assault claimed by Kyiv’s safety companies.
