Ongoing discussions between Fatah and Hamas in Cairo search to carry post-war Gaza beneath the management of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Egypt’s international minister stated Monday.
Gaza has been beneath the authority of Hamas since 2007, after taking up from the Fatah motion, which presently guidelines over elements of the occupied West Bank beneath the PA.
The two teams are “consulting and deliberating to quickly reach a mutual understanding regarding the management of daily affairs in the Gaza Strip under the full control of the Palestinian Authority,” minister Badr Abdelatty informed a news convention.
He stated the Palestinian Authority is to “be fully enabled to take on matters in a clear and complete manner after the end of the Israeli occupation.”
The concern of who will govern Gaza after the conflict has been extensively debated.
Palestinians insist that the territory’s future ought to be theirs to determine, rejecting any international intervention.
Israeli authorities have stated they don’t intend to manipulate Gaza, however firmly oppose Hamas returning to energy.
