Trump calls for immediate end to India-Pakistan fighting

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope Wednesday that India and Pakistan will instantly stop their escalating cross-border preventing as tensions rise over the violence.

“It’s so terrible,” Trump instructed reporters within the Oval Office. “I get along with both. I know them both very well, and I want to see them work it out. I want them to stop, and hopefully, they can stop now. It’s been tit-for-tat, so let’s hope they can end it.”

He added, “If I can do anything to help, I will be there.”

India launched “Operation Sindoor” late Tuesday, claiming to have focused “terrorist infrastructure” at 9 places in Pakistan. The Pakistani army reported that 31 individuals have been killed within the strikes.

The escalation between the nuclear-armed neighbors adopted the April 22 assault in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, through which 26 individuals have been killed.

India blamed Pakistan for the assault, alleging cross-border hyperlinks. Pakistan denied involvement and known as for a impartial investigation.

Indian officers stated New Delhi exercised its “right to respond and preempt, as well as deter more such cross-border attacks.”

Pakistan stated it had shot down 5 Indian plane and vowed to retaliate. There was no rapid response from India.
