Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen resigned Tuesday, a day earlier than he was set to face a censure vote in Congress searching for his removing.

“In the interest of the country, I would like to inform you today that I have irrevocably resigned from my position as president of the Council of Ministers,” Adrianzen stated in a televised tackle.

According to Peruvian media, opposition events had submitted a movement of no confidence to Congress, arguing that Adrianzen is insufficient in combating the nation’s growing violence.

Adrianzen was harshly criticized after 13 miners have been lately kidnapped and killed within the Pataz area of Peru.
