Türkiye’s main e-commerce platform, Trendyol, stated Tuesday it should be part of forces with UAE-based Castle Investments to develop and function a cutting-edge information heart within the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The mission, dubbed “Ankara Data Hub,” will supply 48 megawatts (MW) of IT capability, making it one of many largest and most superior amenities within the area. The heart will likely be Uptime Tier III licensed and is designed to satisfy the technological wants of hyperscalers, cloud service suppliers, and native enterprises.
The partnership between Trendyol and Castle Investments, based and led by information heart veteran Tarek Al Ashram, was formalized by a Shareholders’ Agreement signed in Dubai.
The ceremony was attended by high-level officers, together with Omar Sultan Al Olama, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Mustafa Varank, chair of the Committee on Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology within the Turkish Parliament.
“Trendyol’s leadership is built on its world-class technological solutions and smart data applications,” stated Çağlayan Çetin, president of Trendyol Group.
“The Ankara Data Center project will significantly enhance the quality of service we offer to our rapidly growing local and international customer base, and represents further evidence of our commitment to investing in Türkiye and our confidence in the country’s strong digital ecosystem,” he added.
Iconic mission, new regional benchmark
Castle Investments CEO Al Ashram described the mission as transformative for the area.
“This partnership represents a major step forward in shaping the future of digital infrastructure in the region,” he stated.
“Combining our intensive observe document in delivering mission-critical information heart amenities with Trendyol’s technological management and digital scale in Türkiye will make the Ankara Data Hub an iconic mission and a brand new regional benchmark,” he stated.
The facility will initially launch with 9.6 megawatts of IT capability by the third quarter of 2026. The complete growth value is estimated at roughly $500 million, with building already underway within the Temelli neighborhood of Ankara.
Trendyol is predicted to occupy a good portion of the information heart’s capability to help its increasing operations, whereas the remaining capability will likely be open to different cloud and enterprise clients.
