Iran has condemned within the strongest phrases U.S. “brutal” army aggression towards its peaceable nuclear services, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi advised a press convention in Istanbul on Sunday.

He stated that Washington is “fully responsible” for what actions the Islamic Republic takes subsequent in retaliation towards the U.S. strikes.

“The warmongering, a lawless administration in Washington, is solely and fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of its act of aggression,” Araghchi stated.

These had been the primary public statements from a high-ranking Iranian official for the reason that U.S. carried out its strikes.

Araghchi added that the U.S. and Israel crossed a significant pink line in attacking Iran’s nuclear services.

“They crossed a very big red line by attacking (Iran’s) nuclear facilities,” he stated in Istanbul.

He was talking simply hours after President Donald Trump stated U.S. warplanes struck three Iranian nuclear websites, 9 days into an Israeli bombing marketing campaign concentrating on its nuclear services.

“The most dangerous one happened only last night,” Araghchi stated, whereas acknowledging he didn’t know the complete extent of the injury performed within the strikes, together with one on the underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordo.

“I still do not have exact information about the level of damages, but I don’t think it matters … Last night’s attack was a grave crime,” he stated.

“Through this action, the United States has dealt a serious blow to international peace and security,” he stated, vowing that Iran would defend itself “by all means necessary against … U.S. military aggression.”

Araghchi stated he would head to Moscow on Sunday and maintain talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday morning.

“I’m going to Moscow this afternoon,” to carry “serious consultations with the Russian president tomorrow,” he stated.

After the strikes, Trump stated Iran “must now agree to end this war.”

But Araghchi stated any demand to return to negotiations was “irrelevant.”

“The world must not forget that it was the United States which – in the midst of a process to forge a diplomatic outcome – betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal Israeli regime’s launch of an illegal war of aggression on the Iranian nation,” he stated.

“So we were in diplomacy, but we were attacked… They have proved that they are not men of diplomacy, and they only understand the language of threat and force.”

Turkey, which was internet hosting the weekend OIC summit, warned that the strikes risked escalating the Iran-Israel battle to a world degree that might have “catastrophic” penalties.

“The ongoing developments could cause the regional conflict to escalate to a global level. We do not want this catastrophic scenario to come to life,” the overseas ministry stated in a press release.
