Pakistan plans to allocate 2,000 megawatts of electricity for Bitcoin mining and AI data centers

Pakistan will put aside 2,000 megawatts of electrical energy for Bitcoin mining and AI information facilities, the Dawn newspaper reported on Sunday, citing the nation’s Finance Ministry.

Islamabad’s resolution, which is reportedly the primary part of a nationwide initiative to energy, seeks to rework Pakistan into a worldwide chief in digital innovation.

This initiative is led by the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), a government-supported group, as a part of a wider plan to make the most of extra electrical energy, generate high-tech employment, and entice international funding, based on the ministry.

The allocation is the primary stage of a bigger, multi-phase rollout of digital infrastructure, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s digital transformation, it added.

The Finance Ministry famous that upcoming developments are more likely to function amenities powered by renewable power, strategic international partnerships with high blockchain and AI corporations, and the creation of fintech and innovation hubs.
