Türkiye’s Şimşek, CBRT governor in US for G-20, World Bank meetings

Türkiye’s high financial system officers are within the United States to attend the G-20, in addition to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank annual conferences, and maintain bilateral discussions with their counterparts.

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, accompanied by Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) Governor Fatih Karahan, is about to take part in roughly 50 conferences through the journey, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.

Şimşek schedule kicked off on Tuesday.

Following the two-day G-20 conferences, he’ll attend the World Bank Development Committee assembly.

He will maintain bilateral discussions with a lot of his counterparts, together with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Pakistan Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

Şimşek can even meet with the presidents and senior administration of multilateral improvement banks.

His itinerary consists of conferences with World Bank President Ajay Banga, Asian Development Bank President-designate Masato Kanda, Japan International Cooperation Agency President Nobumitsu Hayashi, Council of Europe Development Bank President Carlo Monticelli and Islamic Development Bank President Muhammad al-Jasser, in addition to high executives of the International Finance Corporation.

Şimşek’s engagements will prolong to talks with IMF President Kristalina Georgieva and First Vice President Gita Gopinath.

Additionally, he’ll attend a sequence of investor conferences and make displays at seminars organized by main funding banks similar to BBVA, JPMorgan, Bank of America, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered and Barclays.

Meetings with varied assume tanks are additionally on the agenda.
