Peter Nygard, the founding father of one among Canada’s largest clothes manufacturers, was sentenced Monday to 11 years in jail for 4 counts of sexual assault of ladies and a woman in Toronto.
He faces launch in about six and a half years with credit score for time spent in pre-trial custody, or sooner if he’s granted parole.
Nygard is “a Canadian success story gone very wrong,” Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Goldstein mentioned in handing down the sentence, including that “Mr Nygard used his wealth, power and profile to prey on his victims.”
