Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday thanked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its “active mediation” throughout prisoner swaps carried out between his nation and neighboring Ukraine.
“The Russian side expressed gratitude for the active mediation assistance provided by the UAE in the implementation of the exchange of detainees between Russia and Ukraine,” the Kremlin stated in a press release following a telephone dialog between Putin and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Indicating that the 2 presidents mentioned the present improvement of Russia-US talks relating to Ukraine and the restoration of diplomatic ties, the assertion stated bin Zayed expressed his help for Moscow and Washington’s efforts on this regard.
The assertion added that the UAE president welcomed right now’s consultations happening between Russia and the US in Saudi Arabia.
