Emergency elections loom as Fenerbahçe fans demand Koç’s resignation

After Fenerbahçe’s title desires took a crushing hit in a 1-0 dwelling defeat to archrival Beşiktaş, unrest is boiling over amongst followers and membership members, with calls intensifying for President Ali Koç to resign and the membership to carry a rare election.

The loss at Kadıköy, a serious blow within the Süper Lig title race, triggered an instantaneous backlash.

Fans at Ülker Stadium turned from hopeful to livid after Beşiktaş’s purpose, unleashing waves of boos and chants calling for the board’s resignation.

The protests spilled into the streets outdoors the stadium and later reached the membership’s Samandıra amenities, prompting police to arrange boundaries at key exits as tensions mounted.

In Denizli, longtime Fenerbahçe supporter and businessman Emrah Tünay – as soon as a part of Aziz Yıldırım’s presidential checklist and now president of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association – spearheaded a notarized signature marketing campaign calling for a rare congress. “We carry a historic responsibility on our shoulders,” stated Tünay. “This is no longer just about poor results on the pitch. We are facing a leadership crisis – sporting, financial, and administrative.”

Tünay’s name to motion shortly resonated with native congress members, who gathered at a notary workplace in Denizli so as to add their names to the petition.

Organized largely by way of social media, the group pressured unity in disaster, declaring that the membership’s destiny demanded collective braveness, not silence.

“The time for hope has passed,” Tünay stated in a press release. “This is the time to act – for every member who’s waited, disappointed, and heartbroken. The motion is gaining steam on-line, with Fenerbahçe followers flooding platforms with assist for a management change.

Many congress members have publicly pledged their assist for the marketing campaign.

Since Ali Koç took the helm in 2018, Fenerbahçe has not lifted the Süper Lig trophy, and persistence amongst followers has grown skinny. While Koç has been praised for his monetary reforms and makes an attempt to modernize the membership, the dearth of on-pitch success – particularly towards rivals – has left a bitter style.
