In the hills of Artvin’s Sarıbudak village, the place custom runs deep and bulls conflict in glory, one Fenerbahçe fan is mixing hometown delight with soccer ardour.
Ulaş Gülseçkin, a lifelong boğa güreşi (bull wrestling) champion and die-hard Fenerbahçe supporter, has raised a colossal, 800-kilogram bull he affectionately calls the Kadıköy Boğası – the Kadıköy Bull.
Now, along with his workforce in title rivalry, he’s planning a rare gesture: bringing his prized bull all the way in which to Istanbul to have a good time a possible league championship beside the long-lasting Kadıköy Bull Statue.
“I’m convinced Fenerbahçe will win the title this year,” Gülseçkin mentioned. “And when they do, I want to mark the moment in a way no one will forget – by bringing the real Kadıköy Bull to Kadıköy.”
Gülseçkin is already prepping for the symbolic journey, adorning the beast and organizing a convoy to move it throughout the nation.
If granted permission by membership president Ali Koç, the ‘Kadıköy Boğası’ will be a part of the symbolic statue in Istanbul, turning into a dwelling tribute to Fenerbahçe’s preventing spirit.
