Paris-Orly flights slashed by 40% after air traffic system failure

France’s civil aviation authority ordered airways to chop flights by 40% at Paris-Orly Airport on Sunday night after a breakdown in air site visitors management programs disrupted operations.

In a press release, the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) mentioned the disruption required “regulation,” prompting a considerable discount in scheduled flights. The authority didn’t specify the reason for the system failure.

The DGAC mentioned its groups “are fully mobilized to restore normal operations as soon as possible.”

Paris-Orly Airport serves home and worldwide flights, together with routes to most European nations and the United States.

Flights to Spain, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Ireland and several other French cities have been canceled Sunday, whereas many others have been delayed.
