2 record-setting Russian cosmonauts, US astronaut return to Earth

Two record-setting Russian cosmonauts, Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub and American astronaut Tracy Dyson got here again to the Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday.

The trio landed on the Kazakh steppe at round 5 p.m. (1200 GMT).

Before their departure, Kononenko handed over command of the ISS to Sunita Williams of the United States. Despite geopolitical tensions, Russia and the U.S. proceed to cooperate on the ISS.

Kononenko and Chub spent 374 days in orbit – the longest anybody has ever stayed on the ISS throughout a single flight. They broke the document on Friday. The two cosmonauts arrived there on Sept. 15, 2023.

During his keep in area, Kononenko smashed one other document: As it was his fifth mission, the 60-year-old has now spent extra time in area than anybody else. He is the one individual to have spent over 1,000 days in area.

It was Dyson’s third spaceflight. For the present mission, she has been on the ISS since March – greater than 180 days.
