All diplomatic alternatives must be used to discover a resolution to the continued conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev mentioned on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku.
“We have an obligation to use all diplomatic opportunities to achieve peace in accordance with the UN Charter,” Radev mentioned, in response to a query by the Russian TASS news company concerning the prospects for settlement efforts following Donald Trump’s win within the U.S. presidential election.
He mentioned that many in Europe need the battle in Ukraine “to end as soon as possible,” including: “We cannot allow a war in the center of Europe. This is a problem for all of us.”
Radev added that the renewal of power cooperation with Russia will depend on dialogue between the European Commission and the Kremlin.
