A delegation of the Armenian inhabitants of Karabakh arrived on Thursday within the metropolis of Yevlakh to satisfy with the Azerbaijani authorities.
The Armenian representatives are accompanied by the Russian peacekeepers, Azerbaijani state news company Trend reported.
Azerbaijan mentioned on Tuesday that it had launched “counter-terrorism” measures in Karabakh to uphold provisions outlined in a trilateral peace settlement with Russia and Armenia to finish the 2020 battle.
On Wednesday morning, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry mentioned it determined to halt the operations beneath an settlement achieved with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been tense since 1991, when the Armenian army occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, a territory internationally acknowledged as a part of Azerbaijan, and 7 adjoining areas.
In the autumn of 2020, Azerbaijan liberated a number of cities, villages and settlements from Armenian occupation throughout 44 days of clashes. The struggle ended with a Russia-brokered cease-fire.
