An Australian journalist who was sacked for a social media put up concerning the state of affairs within the Gaza Strip vowed on Thursday to proceed her authorized battle, saying her case was about “free speech.”
“I’m willing and prepared to fight for as long it takes and I want to take a moment to thank the millions of people around,” Antoinette Lattouf, former ABC journalist, advised reporters in Sydney after making her submission throughout a digital listening to by the Fair Work Commission.
Lattouf, who’s of Lebanese origin, was sacked final month after a marketing campaign towards her and ABC management by an Israeli foyer group in Australia.
“There is so much support around the country but also overseas,” famous Lattouf, who alleged in her criticism that one of many causes of her termination was race.
“This is such an important case because it is not just about me it is about free speech, it is about racism,” she added.
Lattouf stated her case was vital as a result of “it is about the important role journalists play in truth telling.”

The journalist, who has vowed to proceed her combat for as lengthy “as it takes,” is crowdfunding to pay for her authorized bills in her courtroom case towards Australian broadcaster.
Lattouf’s case adopted the resignation of ABC’s Parliament House bureau journalist Nour Haydar.
