US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday stated the “ball is now in Russia’s court” on Ukraine ceasefire.
“Today, we’ve made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that’s enduring and sustainable,” Rubio, together with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, informed reporters.
His remarks got here after the US and Ukraine officers held talks in Saudi Arabia to debate methods to finish the Russia-Ukraine battle.
Ukraine expressed a readiness to simply accept the US proposal to enact an “immediate, interim” 30-day ceasefire, which could be prolonged by mutual settlement by the events, in line with a press release.
“We’ll take this offer now to the Russians, and we hope that they’ll say ‘yes’, that they’ll say ‘yes’ to peace. The ball is now in their court,” Rubio stated.
