U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned he requested Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to “tone down Al Jazeera‘s rhetoric about the war in Gaza,” based on a report.
Blinken’s request got here Monday throughout a gathering with American Jewish group leaders, Axios reported, citing three individuals who attended.
“Blinken told American Jewish leaders on Monday that when he was in Doha on Oct. 13 he asked the Qatari government to change its public posture towards Hamas,” it mentioned.
One supply cited within the report mentioned Blinken requested the Qataris to “turn down the volume on Al Jazeera’s coverage because it is full of anti-Israel incitement.”
It mentioned Blinken “appeared to be talking about Al Jazeera Arabic, not Al Jazeera English.”
