Two suspects carrying an axe and a knife tried to interrupt right into a mosque in Winnipeg, in Canada’s Manitoba province on Tuesday.

At about 4 a.m. Tuesday, a volunteer cleaner on the Abu Bakr Al-Siddique Community Centre in Winnipeg heard a loud bang.

Shaqir Shaikh went to analyze and noticed two folks, one holding an axe and the opposite a knife, he instructed CTV News.

“I simply shouted loudly and I simply locked the door and I simply known as (emergency quantity) 911,” stated Shaikh.

Police shortly arrived however the suspects had fled the scene, he stated.

Mosque director Adnan Siddiqui stated the Muslim group is worried by the assault.

“They are actually upset as a result of we don’t know what was the aim (of the assault),” he stated.

Stephen Brown, CEO of the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), stated in a press release on Instagram that it serves no function to make suppositions on the explanation for the crime.

“At this point, while we encourage Winnipeg Police to continue all angles of the investigations including as to whether this was potentially hate-motivated, we encourage our community not to speculate on the motivation of the attackers,” said the group. “We are working intently and productively with the Winnipeg Police and we’ll present updates as they grow to be accessible.”

Siddiqui stated the mosque door must be changed and safety on the middle shall be beefed up.
