Ramzan Kadyrov, chief of Russia’s Chechnya area, has accused Russian lawmakers from neighbouring areas of trying to fee his assassination, and threatened them with a “blood feud”, the state news company TASS reported on Thursday.
The dispute has its origins in a company merger involving Russia’s largest on-line retailer, Wildberries, outdoors whose Moscow workplace two folks had been killed in a shootout final month.
Kadyrov has described Wildberries’ merger with outside promoting agency Russ Group as an “asset grab”.
TASS cited Kadyrov, in feedback made on Wednesday, as naming three lawmakers behind the alleged plot to kill him. “If they do not prove otherwise, I will officially declare a blood feud,” he was quoted as saying at a gathering with safety officers.
In Chechnya, blood feuds are pursued by killing an enemy or his male family members in response to a perceived offence.
Tatiana Kim, Russia’s richest girl, held 99% of Wildberries and now has round 65% of the merged firm, RVB. She has filed for divorce from Vladislav Bakalchuk, a minority stakeholder in Wildberries who opposed the merger, whom Kadyrov is backing within the dispute.
One of these named by Kadyrov in reference to the alleged assassination plot is Suleiman Kerimov, a rich businessman and Russian senator from Dagestan, whom Bakalchuk has accused of “seizing” Wildberries.
Reuters was unable to achieve Kerimov by telephone and obtained no quick reply to emailed questions.
Kadyrov was handpicked by Russian President Vladimir Putin to run Chechnya, and has grow to be a major participant in Russian politics and the army, together with by offering troopers for Russia’s struggle effort in Ukraine.
