Beijing criticized plans by Canada to impose extra tariffs on Chinese-made electrical autos, saying the transfer quantities to “trade protectionism.”
“This move is typical trade protectionism and politically-motivated decision, which violates the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and goes against Canada’s traditional image as a global champion for free trade and climate change mitigation,” mentioned an announcement on Monday by the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa.
Underlining that Beijing expresses its “strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition” over the choice, the embassy warned that this could harm commerce and financial cooperation between the 2 nations.
According to media studies, Canada is making ready to impose extra tariffs on Chinese electrical autos.
