Several fanatical Jewish teams have been planning Thursday to march to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem to “end its Islamic status” and “Judaize” it.
The teams introduced in a joint assertion that they’d maintain the provocative march on Thursday night, which coincides with the primary day of Hanukkah, a Jewish pageant that lasts eight days.
The assertion stated the march, which was greenlit by the Israeli police, can be organized with the goal of “ending the administration of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf in Masjid al-Aqsa,” which is liable for the administration of the Muslim holy website, and “reestablishing full Jewish sovereignty” in Jerusalem and over Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The march will proceed in the direction of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Damascus Gate, one of many most important gates of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Located within the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque is underneath the auspices of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Foundations, in line with the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty signed on Oct. 26, 1994.
But fanatical Jews have been raiding Al-Aqsa Mosque accompanied by the police since 2003, with the unilateral resolution of Israel and the initiatives of some far-right organizations.
Radical Jews, who name the realm the Temple Mount, encourage Israelis to raid Al-Aqsa to carry out spiritual rituals, accompanied by calls to construct a Jewish temple there.
The Waqf has warned that the raids of fanatical Jews have elevated lately.
Israeli forces have imposed restrictions on Muslims coming into Al-Aqsa Mosque since Oct. 7, after they launched assaults towards the Gaza Strip, and are stopping Palestinians besides the aged from coming into the mosque throughout Friday prayers.
