France will finish state funding for a highschool attended predominantly by Muslim college students beginning in September this yr, native media reported Tuesday.

Fabienne Buccio, prefect of the Auvergne Rhone Alpes area in southeast-central France, introduced the termination of three agreements between the state and the Al-Kindi college group in Decines-Charpieu, a commune within the area of Lyon in southeastern France.

Authorities stated the agreements have been terminated on the grounds that Al-Kindi allegedly violated administrative, pedagogical and “republican” values.

The Al-Kindi college group, which incorporates elementary, center and excessive faculties, serves roughly 620 college students.

The transfer has raised considerations over its potential impression on the group.
