German businessman killed by lion during safari in Namibia

59 year-old German businessman Bernd Kebbel was killed in a lion assault whereas on a safari in Namibia.

Staying at a luxurious safari camp along with his spouse Conny and buddies, Kebbel reportedly left his tent at evening to make use of the bathroom when he was focused by a lioness.

Kebbel was severely injured in the course of the assault and died on the scene from a chunk to the neck.

Namibia’s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism spokesperson Ndeshipanda Hamunyela, said that Kebbel was attacked by the lioness on the morning of Friday, May 30, as he left his tent to make use of the bathroom.

According to native media, different individuals within the camp managed to scare the lion away, however Kebbel had already died.

According to the Daily Mail, Kebbel was a philanthropist who supported wildlife conservation in Namibia and was previously the proprietor of Off-Road-Centre, an organization that bought equipment for safari automobiles.

In a separate incident, a lion killed a 14-year-old lady in April at a farm south of Nairobi National Park, close to Kenya’s capital.
