Israel passes law to ban UN relief agency, main aid provider in Gaza

The Israeli parliament on Monday authorised a controversial invoice banning the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from working on Israeli territory subsequent 12 months, regardless of objections from the U.S.

The U.N. group is the principle humanitarian help supplier within the Gaza Strip, and the transfer dangers stopping the company from working within the Palestinian Territories too, as Israel controls the border crossings.

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned in opposition to the plan, saying it will “stifle” efforts to alleviate human struggling and tensions within the Gaza Strip, and in addition within the West Bank and East Jerusalem, earlier this month.
