Israel set to extend southern Lebanon presence after cease-fire deadline

Israel is reportedly getting ready to inform the US of its intention to keep up a navy presence in southern Lebanon past the 60-day timeframe set within the current cease-fire deal, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation mentioned Saturday.

The cease-fire, brokered by the US and France, took impact on Nov. 27, was meant to finish 14 months of intense clashes between Israel and Hezbollah-the deadliest battle there for the reason that 2006 Lebanon War.
