Intensified cross-border fireplace from Lebanon’s Hezbollah motion into Israel may set off critical escalation, the Israeli navy stated on Sunday.
“Hezbollah‘s increasing aggression is bringing us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation, one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region,” Israeli navy spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated in a video assertion in English.
Iran-backed Hezbollah final week launched the biggest volleys of rockets and drones but within the eight months it has been exchanging fireplace with the Israeli navy, in parallel with the Gaza conflict.
The U.S. and France are engaged on a negotiated settlement to the hostilities alongside Lebanon‘s southern border. Hezbollah says it won’t halt fireplace until Israel’s navy offensive on Gaza stops.
“Israel will take the necessary measures to protect its civilians — until security along our border with Lebanon is restored,” Hagari stated.
