Israeli troopers desecrated a church in Deir Mimas, a Christian village in southern Lebanon, a video confirmed on Tuesday.
The footage shared on social media confirmed the troopers dancing disrespectfully to church traditions.
According to the Israeli public broadcaster KAN, the incident passed off as troopers of the military’s 91st Division superior in the direction of the Litani River in southern Lebanon.
The video captured troopers shouting and joking, staging a mock wedding ceremony between two of their friends who embraced afterward. Other troopers wrestled on the church ground whereas their comrades laughed loudly.
The video has sparked outrage throughout Lebanon and amongst Christians in Israel, KAN stated.
