Kremlin denies alleged phone calls between Putin and Trump

The Kremlin has denied stories of alleged cellphone calls between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US president Donald Trump after he left workplace in 2021.

According to Russian news companies, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that these conversations didn’t happen.

US media had reported that Trump and Putin might have had a number of beforehand unknown phone conversations and that Trump had despatched coronavirus take a look at tools to Putin for the Russian president’s private use.

They had been citing a brand new e-book titled “War” by US reporter Bob Woodward, which traces how the US administration of President Joe Biden responded to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Trump’s marketing campaign group had denied the knowledge within the e-book. The former US president has been criticized for years due to his actual or perceived closeness to Putin and Russia.

The matter has gained renewed significance within the run-up to the US presidential election on November 5.

Woodward rose to fame as one of many journalists who uncovered the Watergate wiretapping scandal that led to the resignation of former US president Richard Nixon in 1974.
