A left-wing critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sergei Udaltsov, has been detained on suspicion of justifying terrorism.
His pre-trial detention will final till February 15, the Interfax news company reported on Friday.
Udaltsov advised reporters in courtroom that the explanation for his prosecution was weblog entries during which he had expressed his help for a Marxist debate membership within the metropolis of Ufa.
Russia’s home intelligence service FSB had disbanded the membership shortly after the beginning of Russia’s warfare in opposition to Ukraine.
Several members have been arrested on costs of forming a terrorist organisation and making an attempt a coup d’état.
The FSB investigation is allegedly not linked to any criticism of the warfare. A majority of the membership members have been Stalinists in favour of the Ukraine marketing campaign, as is Udaltsov.
However, alongside jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny, Udaltsov was a frontrunner of the 2011-2013 protest motion which was directed in opposition to Putin’s return to the Kremlin as president.
