Mohamed Muizzu was elected President of Maldives late Saturday, in accordance with early outcomes.

Preliminary outcomes place Muizzu, from the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) – Peoples National Congress (PNC), within the lead with 53.8%, stated media stories.
