Police in Canada have charged a Montreal man for threatening to kill Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in social media posts on X, previously Twitter, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) mentioned on Wednesday.
The man, 30, faces a felony cost of uttering threats and can seem on the Montreal courthouse on Wednesday, the RCMP mentioned in a press release. The cost carries a most sentence of two years in jail.
The RCMP mentioned the cost was laid on Jan. 31 after a brief investigation into the person’s “threatening comments,” with out offering extra particulars.
Trudeau’s workplace mentioned it doesn’t touch upon the prime minister’s safety.
