Moscow: Ukrainian troops attacked Russian positions in Kursk region

Russia on Tuesday mentioned that the Ukrainian military attacked Russian positions within the Kursk area bordering Ukraine.

In a press release, the Russian Defense Ministry mentioned that as much as 300 Ukrainian troops supported by 11 tanks and 20 armored automobiles are attacking Russian positions at Nikolayevo-Darino and Oleshnya settlements within the Kursk area.


Russian border guards along with the Federal Security Service forces are repelling the assaults and counterattacking the Ukrainian reserves primarily based in Ukraine’s Sumy area, adjoining to the Kursk area.

The ministry mentioned the battle has been ongoing since 08.00 a.m. Moscow time (0500GMT).

Russian warplanes hit troopers and tools of the Ukrainian troops within the settlements of Basovka, Juravka, Hoten, Yunakovka, Belovodi, and Hrapovshchiniy, it mentioned, including that the air power was “effectively used against enemy armored vehicles.”

“As a result of the attacks, 16 military vehicles of the Ukrainian armed forces, including six tanks, two infantry vehicles, four armored personnel vehicles, three ‘Kozak’ armored combat vehicles and a military engineering vehicle, were destroyed,” the ministry mentioned.

It mentioned that Russian reinforcements have been on the best way to the realm.
