At least 69 individuals have died and 31 others have been lacking after days of monsoon rains and a number of cloudbursts in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state, state authorities mentioned Friday.
In a press release, the state’s Emergency Operations Centre mentioned that within the monsoon rain season, 43 individuals died resulting from a number of causes, together with flash floods, landslides and cloudbursts. Twenty-six individuals died resulting from street accidents within the ongoing monsoon seasons, it added.
The assertion mentioned that 110 individuals have been injured.
The wet monsoon season sometimes lasts from June to September in Pakistan and India.
Himachal Pradesh state, since mid-June, has witnessed heavy rainfall, triggering a number of cloudbursts and flash floods.
State’s Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu mentioned reduction efforts are underway in components of the state.
