Pakistan on Thursday expressed remorse over the most recent US sanctions on its ballistic missile program, saying Washington’s biased insurance policies have harmful implications for the strategic stability of the area and past.

The Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the US determination to impose sanctions on the National Development Complex (NDC) and three business entities is “unfortunate and biased.”

“Pakistan’s strategic capabilities are meant to defend its sovereignty and preserve peace and stability in South Asia. The latest installment of sanctions defies the objective of peace and security by aiming to accentuate military asymmetries,” stated the ministry.

Islamabad’s response comes after the US imposed sanctions on Islamabad-based NDC and personal corporations in Karachi, together with Akhtar and Sons Private Limited, Affiliates International, and Rockside Enterprise.

“(NDC) has worked to acquire items in furtherance of Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile program-including special vehicle chassis intended to be used as launch support equipment for ballistic missiles and missile testing equipment,” stated a press release issued by the US State Department.

Islamabad regrets the imposition of sanctions on personal business entities, claiming that earlier sanctions concentrating on business entities have been based mostly on mere suspicions and lack of proof.

In September this 12 months, the US additionally sanctioned Chinese suppliers and a Pakistani entity for his or her alleged involvement in Pakistan’s ballistic missile program.

The sanctions observe an identical US motion in April when Washington blacklisted 4 Belarussian and Chinese corporations for supplying missile-related objects to Pakistan’s long-range missile program.
