Police on Saturday banned a deliberate pro-Palestine march on New Year’s eve within the German capital.

The “No celebration during genocide” demonstration, which was scheduled to happen within the Neukolln district from 10.30 p.m. native time (2130GMT) on Sunday until 1 a.m, is prohibited, Berlin police mentioned in an announcement.

It identified an “imminent danger” that there could possibly be anti-Semitic slogans and glorification of violence in the course of the protest, “based on the experiences of the past few years.”

In current weeks, tens of hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators have marched in Western capitals, calling for an finish to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.
