Russia on Sunday claimed it took management of a village in Ukraine’s easternmost Luhansk area.

An announcement by the Defense Ministry mentioned its forces captured the village of Makiivka, about 60 kilometers (37.2 miles) southeast of town of Kupiansk, an vital entrance within the ongoing Ukraine conflict located within the neighboring Kharkiv area.

Ukrainian authorities haven’t but commented on Russia’s claims, and unbiased verification of the claims is troublesome as a result of ongoing battle.
