Russia’s Defense Ministry stated it carried out a profitable check launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile on Friday.
The check occurred on the Kapustin Yar coaching floor in Russia’s southern Astrakhan area close to the Caspian Sea, the place the missile was launched from a movable floor missile launch automobile, the Defense Ministry stated in an announcement.
“The launch was carried out as part of state tests of promising missile systems, as well as a check-up of the stability of missiles in service. The results obtained confirm the high reliability of Russian missiles to ensure the strategic security of the Russian Federation,” it stated.
According to the ministry, “the launch tasks have been completed in full.”
The check occurred because the Russia-Ukraine warfare is into its third 12 months, with the concern of using nuclear weapons sometimes being raised as a problem.
